Demonstrator Pocket List

Stay safe, stay prepared. This guide helps you plan ahead for any demonstration.

Must-Haves (But Carry as Little as Possible)

  • A form of identification
  • Cash for transit, food, and emergency needs
  • Essential medication(s) you cannot safely miss (ideally in original bottle; multiple-day supply)
  • Emergency numbers you can access without your phone:
    • Write (permanent marker) your emergency contact + lawyer/jail-support number on your arm
    • Also carry the numbers on a small paper slip or card in a pocket
  • Mask (or two)
  • Medical info card/bracelet (allergies, conditions) if relevant

Optional

  • If you bring a phone, treat it like it might be lost or confiscated:
    • Strong passcode (not Face ID/fingerprint) and disable biometrics
    • Consider leaving your primary phone at home (or using a "minimal" phone if that's feasible for you)

Leave at Home

  • Anything you're not willing to lose (extra cards, sentimental items, expensive accessories)
  • Anything illegal or that could be construed as a weapon
